Fruitcake Cookie Recipe

These merry & bright, morsel filled, bites of sweet, candied fruits in a delicious crispy and chewy cookie, are a festive and colourful treat! Take advantage of our November 6th-26th Olympic Wholesale Flyer savings, where we feature #22091 Glace Fruit Mix from SFI/Puratos.


  • 1cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup shortening

  • 1 egg

  • 1 3/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon soda

  • 1/4 cup buttermilk

  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans

  • 1 cup candied cherries

  • 1 cup chopped dates

  • 1/2 cup Glace Fruit Mix #22091


  • Cream shortening and sugar until light.

  • Add egg and beat well until blended.

  • Reserving a little flour to toss with the fruit, combine remaining flour with salt and baking soda.

  • Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk.

  • Toss fruit with reserved flour

  • Fold floured fruit and chopped pecans in with batter.

  • Drop spoonful amounts of batter onto greased or parchment lined baking sheet, leaving 1 1/2 to inches between cookies

  • bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 13 minutes, depending on size of cookies.

  • Yield: 3 to 5 dozen. Store in airtight container.
